Opposition PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis announced the start of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the acute housing problem in Greece and urged Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to abolish the golden visa “yesterday”, as Ireland has done.
Ηe stressed that he would campaign against this scheme that has brought to the Hellenic Republic €1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) in the first half of this year, however, it resulted in thousands of properties being removed from the rental market after they were mainly acquired by Chinese investors.

Mary Tsiganou, Synergia’s Vice President comments on this announcement and argues the benefits of the Greek Residency by Investment program in the Greek economy.
