Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the Greek university that hosts the most prominent medical school in the country, recently launched its first 6-year Medical Degree in English. For the first time AUTH is opening up its doors to English-speaking students from all over the world to gain access to leading educators, facilities, research and hands-on practice.
On the other hand, the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) has inaugurated its own “Medical Degree” in English, and plans to start welcoming its freshman students in September 2022. The UoA program was the first of its kind in Greece, which introduced the framework for fully accredited foreign-language degrees at public
universities in 2019.
Both Programs are ideal for those who want to study medicine in the place where it originated and pursue a brilliant career worldwide. In fact, Greece has been a popular destination among students who are keen to obtain degrees from prestigious and quality institutions or universities. Overall, the Greek higher education system is well-respected, and ranked 41st in the world in the first edition of the QS Higher Education System Strength Rankings whereas six Greek universities are included in the QS World University Rankings® 2021.
Education has been a key concern of those who acquire their European permanent residencies, the admittance to higher educational institutions therefore remains one of the many advantages of the Greek Residency Scheme.
